Donation & Refund Policy
Last updated: 4 September 2026
In short: donations are voluntary and are generally treated as final, because funds are committed to programmes quickly. If you made a genuine mistake, such as a wrong amount, duplicate transfer or unauthorised transaction, contact us promptly and we will look into it fairly.
1. Scope
This policy applies to voluntary contributions made to GPF & FISSOT in support of any of its social service activities: community welfare, education and youth support, humanitarian initiatives, community mobilisation, the 1001 Free Mass Marriage initiative, and any further programmes the organisation undertakes in future.
2. How donations are made
This website does not process payments. No card, net-banking or UPI transaction takes place on this site, and we never ask for card numbers, CVV, OTP or UPI PIN.
Contributions are made directly by bank transfer or UPI using the details published on the Donate page. Because payment happens through your own bank or UPI application, that transaction is governed by your bank's or payment provider's terms.
Please verify the account details directly with the organisation before transferring any money. GPF & FISSOT does not authorise agents to collect funds on its behalf, and does not charge any fee for participation in its free programmes.
3. Donations are voluntary
All contributions are voluntary. Making a donation does not entitle the donor or any nominee to selection for, participation in, or benefit from any programme, and does not create any influence over how a programme is run or who is selected.
4. How contributions are used
Contributions are applied towards organising and delivering GPF & FISSOT's social programmes and the administrative costs reasonably necessary to run them.
Unless you specify a programme in writing, contributions are treated as unrestricted and may be applied to whichever activity the organisation judges to have the greatest need. Where you do specify a programme, we will make reasonable efforts to apply your contribution to it. If that programme is cancelled, materially changed, over-subscribed, or completed with surplus funds, we may reallocate the contribution to another activity of a similar nature, and will inform you on request.
5. Refunds and cancellations
Donations are given voluntarily to support charitable work and funds are committed to programmes soon after receipt. Contributions are therefore generally non-refundable and cannot be cancelled once made.
We will, however, consider a refund request in good faith in genuine cases, including:
- A duplicate transfer made in error
- An amount transferred that is clearly different from the amount intended (for example a keying error)
- A transaction the account holder did not authorise
- An amount transferred to GPF & FISSOT by mistake and not intended as a donation
How to request
Write to us using the contact details in section 9 within 7 days of the transaction, including the date, amount, payment reference or UTR number, and what went wrong. We may ask for proof of the transaction and confirmation that you are the account holder.
We aim to acknowledge requests within a reasonable period and, where a refund is approved, to process it back to the originating bank account or UPI handle. Refunds are not made in cash or to any third-party account. Any bank charges may be deducted. Where a receipt has been issued and any tax benefit claimed, a refund may not be possible.
Approval is at the reasonable discretion of GPF & FISSOT, and a decision on any one request does not set a precedent for another.
6. Receipts
If you would like a receipt for your contribution, contact us with your transaction details and we will issue one where we are able to.
7. Tax treatment
No claim is made on this website that contributions to GPF & FISSOT are eligible for deduction under Section 80G or any other provision of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Do not assume any tax benefit. Any exemption status will be published on this website only when supported by valid documentation, and you should confirm the current position with the organisation and your own tax adviser before claiming any deduction.
8. Foreign contributions
Contributions from foreign sources are regulated in India under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010. Please contact the organisation before attempting any contribution from a foreign source or a foreign-source account, so that it can confirm whether it is in a position to lawfully accept it. Do not transfer such funds to the accounts published on this website without confirming first.
